SJRVFF helps the Elkhart Conservation Club with its hatchery program. The ECC raises 20,000 brown trout from egss in its cold water hatchery. The trout are planted in streams in Northern Indiana. SJRVFF and ECC have a great working relationship. This past fall (2004) members from both clubs worked together to improve the stream habitat and shore up banks on Cobus Creek, which runs through the ECC's property. In the past the ECC has been gracious for allowing SJRVFF use their facilities for meetings and events.
